This collaborative initiative will focus on the importance of residential rain gardens and barrels and will feature expert guest speakers, including Amy Dutt from Urban Wild, Ltd. and Sara Ernst of Central Ohio Rain Garden Initiatives, Jonathan Meier from Rain Brothers, and Michael Johnson from Scioto Gardens. Tour Stratford's Edible Rain Gardens and learn about how to build and integrate rain gardens, barrels, and appropriate plants into your landscape. Attendees will have a chance to win a free rain barrel, design and installation (time and labor), with discounts on plant materials from Scioto Gardens! In the spirit of the underground supper clubs which debuted Freedom a la Cart to the Columbus dining scene, Eat Up! Columbus is a culinary adventure celebrating community, collaboration and cause cuisine. The evening’s dinner party mood will feature 7 tasting-courses showcasing the city’s “Young Gun” chefs, with each course thoughtfully paired by our sommelier. All proceeds benefit Freedom a la Cart and the fight against human trafficking in our community.
