We were so thrilled when The Crest Gastropub invited us to preview their new rooftop patio and garden that we decided to throw our very first edible Gathering with them! To celebrate our new issue and their official launch, head chef Dustin and his team created a special menu and summer cocktail for our party. We dined on the roof overlooking its Clintonville neighborhood until the last honey-glazed cheese ball was gone (even the flowers in our cocktails were edible) then The Crest's Trish Clark sent our guests home with heirloom seeds to plant. We couldn't imagine a better way to kick off a series of gatherings with our readers than with seasonally-inspired small plates and spirits in the middle of a garden that grew our food.
